Hello! My name is Shara Rose! I am 45. I have two beautiful daughters, ages 12 and 17.
I work as an administrator in special education in a large public school district.
Through divine intervention truly a miracle of God, I was diagnosed with stage 3 hormone positive her2 negative breast cancer (with 8 lymph nodes involved) in December 2025 one week before Christmas, and just five days after my youngest daughter’s twelfth birthday and in the midst of all the year end deadliness at work right before winter break. We are truly aware that it was a miracle that I did not ignore symptoms at this time. ![]()
My passion and calling is to educate. I am currently undergoing treatment (surgery in Jan 2026, chemo and future radiation) and hope to use my experience to inform and bring concrete awareness to women under 50 with no family history who may not realize their risk status.
The Pink Rose Awareness Project is a passion project aimed to build awareness and action. Our goal is to become a non profit organization and provide fliers and info to women across the nation. I am a passionate public speaker who would love to share my personal story and resources with any group or organization that is seeking to support the women in their communities.
Our mission will be to educate, inform and reform the understanding of breast cancer awareness to actionable steps women and the medical community can take to make connections and diagnose early.
In the future we hope to provide grant funding to adopted women to obtain genetic testing for breast cancer genes and then we hope to support legislation that will address women’s health by providing necessary screenings earlier.
We are a small organization driven by grit, passion and heart. This project was created out of a prayer and a desire to serve.
Breast cancer brought about a season of being in the waiting that I had only ever experienced when I was a foster parent to my girls, prior to their adoptions being finalized.
Initially after my diagnosis, I found myself struggling to surrender all to God in the season of uncertainty. I saw a post on facebook early in the wee hours one morning that said what do waiters do? They serve.
This simple post lite a fire in my soul and changed the way I prayed and gave me a new focus and desire to accept this diagnosis and give all to Jesus. To surrender to pray that I could use this for the glory of God… and do all that I can to help my daughters, other family members, friends and women everywhere to be aware and to know how to advocate for their health.
We are difference makers and we serve a living God to whom we give all the praise and glory. The work is directed by His mighty hand. Amen.

At Pink Rose Awareness Project, our mission is to provide education and resources to help women understand their personal risk for developing breast cancer. Ultimately we hope to provide grant funding for adopted women to receive genetic testing.

Dynamic materials and personal story to support women to recognize risks and make connections. Open to sharing my story and supporting women in our community.

We are driven by passion and grit. We hope to provide fliers and information to women all across the nation. Remember the acronym ROSE (Recognize Risk, Observe your health, Schedule Screenings, Educate Others).
